Time and Billing

Whether your firm captures time or just bills by flat fee, much of your revenue may be lost if you do not have a good system in place to track it. It is important to choose a system that offers both power and ease of use. The stages of a bill cycle illustrate the way that many of these programs operate:

  • Time & Expense entry - either on site or remotely employees enter their time and expenses into a central database
  • Bill generation - after client information has been entered, bills are created based on the slips in the system. these bills are sent either via paper or electronically
  • Accounts Receivable tracking - now that the bills have been sent out, it becomes easy to find out in seconds, who owes you how much and for how long
  • Reports - productivity, profitiablity, information listing and many other reports should be easily accessible
  • Accounting - either integrated directly into the billing system or linked via an accounting interface

While there are many systems out there, we work predominantly with TimeSlips, PCLaw and Juris. Depending on the size of your firm and your specific needs, we can recommend the best solution to meet your needs.
